Windows NT 4.0 Printer Software Installation Instructions

1) Double click the "My Computer" icon on the desktop.

2) Double click the "Printers" folder.

3) Double click the "Add Printer" icon.

4) A dialog appears, asking how you are connecting your printer to your
computer. If you are connecting to the printer directly via serial or
parallel cable, click the "My Computer" button and click Next. If you
are connecting to the printer via a network, click the "Network printer
server" button and click Next.

5) The dialog now prompts for the port name which the printer will use.
Select the correct port name and click Next.

6) The next screen asks for the printer model and manufacturer. Click
"Have Disk."

7) Insert the GCC Printing Software for Windows floppy into your floppy
drive. Change the drive to A:\NT40 and click OK.

8) A list of GCC printers should appear. Select the appropriate
printer and click Next.

9) The dialog will ask for a name for the printer. Give the printer a
name and click Next.

10) The next dialog determines whether or not the printer will be a
shared printer. If you will be sharing this printer over a network with
other users, click on the "Shared" button and give the printer a shared
name. If the printer is only going to be used by the computer it is
attached to, click the "Not Shared" button and click Next.

11) The next screen asks if you want a test page printed or not. If you
want a test page to print out at the end of the installation, click Yes.
If you do not want a test page printed out, click No. After you have
made your selection, click Finish.

12) The computer will copy the appropriate .PPD file from the floppy
drive. After it has copied the .PPD file, the computer will prompt for
the Windows NT Workstation CD-ROM to be inserted in the CD-ROM drive.
Insert your Windows NT Workstation CD-ROM and click OK. If a dialog box
comes up still asking for the files off the Windows NT Workstation
CD-ROM, click "Browse..." and navigate to the Windows NT Workstation
CD-ROM.
If you run Windows NT on an Intel processor machine, open the "I386"
folder. Otherwise, open the "Alpha", "Mips", or "Ppc" folder, depending
on the processor in your computer. If you are unsure of your processor
type, choose the "I386" folder.
Once inside the appropriate folder, select "Pscript.dl_" and click Open.
Click OK in the dialog to complete the installation. When the computer
is finished, the printer's icon should be visible in the "Printers"
window.
