  YESterm/IP
 ************

YESterm/IP is a powerful Telnet TN5250e emulator specifically developed
by Affirmative Computer Products to provide enhanced emulation functions for a
wide range of IBM terminals and a "true" IBM 3812 Printer emulation with the
support of all the enhanced features normally available only on very expensive
5250 Printer Interfaces.

YESterm/IP can easily support up to 10 concurrent TCP/IP connections with
different Host Systems and, for each connection, up to 32 terminal/printer
sessions can be configured and used. In addition, YESterm/IP supports the
"Enhanced Display Auto-Signon and Password Encryption" allowing a secure
connection to the AS/400, with no need for any SSL option on the AS/400.

The configuration of TelNet sessions is made simple by the Wizard, a utility
program, provided with the suite, that guides the user during the configuration
process.

The included FTP file transfer utility has been designed specifically for
use with the AS/400; it fully supports all file systems and file naming
conventions. It also provides a useful Remote Command Feature allowing the
user to run CL commands within the FTP connection.

How to Use TCP/IP over Twinax. AS/400 Configuration
 *****************************************************

To use the TCP/IP over Twinax protocol, it is necessary to configure a continuous
block of IP addresses (for the Work Stations and for the AS/400) on your AS/400.
To do this configuration, Affirmative Computer Products has developed a utility
"TCPTWIZ" that will assist you in defining the correct range of IP addresses and
in configuring your AS/400. In a Windows'95/98 environment, TCPTWIZ is installed
during the TCP/IP over Twinax Driver installation.
It can found in the root directory of the "YESterm/IP-Suite" CD.

To activate TCPTWIZ:
 - Insert the "YESterm/IP-Suite" CD into the CD-ROM drive.
 - From the Taskbar, click "Start" then click "Run".
 - Enter <CD drive>:\TCPTWIZ.EXE where <CD drive> is your CD-ROM drive.
 - Click "OK".

  AS/400 Configuration
 **********************
To use the TCP/IP over Twinax protocol, it is necessary to configure a continuous block
of IP addresses (for the Work Stations and for the AS/400) on your AS/400.

Also, it is necessary to create a TDLC line description for the Workstation Controller
used to connect the PC running TCP/IP over Twinax. The TDLC line is used also for the
connection to the PC running Client Access, and the name of the TDLC line would be
something like "QDTLxxxxxx". It can be created using
the command:

    CRTLINTDLC LIND(Line_Description) WSC(Workstation_Controller)

After this, it is necessary to create a TCP/IP interface for the TDLC line.
To do this, use the command:

    ADDTCPIFC INTNETADR('XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX') LIND(Line_Description)
    SUBNETMASK('YYY.YYY.YYY.YYY') LCLIFC('ZZZ.ZZZ.ZZZ.ZZZ')

where: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX is the IP address of the AS/400 Workstation_Controller.
YYY.YYY.YYY.YYY is the Subnet Mask for this network.
LCLIFC is the "Associated Local Interface" parameter. This parameter
must be specified if there is, installed on the AS/400, a network
Adapter (Token Ring, Ethernet, Dial-up etc.) and you intend to connect
       these two networks.
ZZZ.ZZZ.ZZZ.ZZZ is the IP address of the "Associated Local Interface".

After the TCP/IP interface creation, it is necessary to activate (if it is not
active yet) the TCP/IP service using the STRTCP command. Then, using the NETSTAT command,
activate the "TCP/IP interface management" menu, which allows you to verify the status and
activate the configured TCP/IP interfaces.

 *************************************************
How to Use TCP/IP over Twinax. PC Configuration
 *************************************************

There are several possible ways to define the IP addresses for the Work Station connected
using the TCP/IP over Twinax:
 - Use the TCP/IP over Twinax Driver "Automatic IP Address Cfg" function.
This function can be used without activating the AS/400 DHCP Server.
If you want to use this function, you should configure the PC TCP/IP protocol to use
DHCP Server (if you are using Windows NT), or to use the "Obtain an IP address
automatically" parameter (if you are using Windows'95/98).
 - Use the AS/400 DHCP Server to automatically assign the IP addresses.
 - Specify the IP address used by your Twinax Adapter.
If you want to specify the IP address used by your Twinax Adapter, you should:
- Configure your AS/400 as explained in the appropriate procedure.
- Install the TCP/IP over Twinax Driver into your Personal Computer.
- Reboot the Personal Computer.

>From an AS/400 terminal session, you should verify the creation of the Display Device
related to the PC running TCP/IP over Twinax. Also, using TCP/IP over Twinax,
every PC/Workstation uses an address of the Twinax line to which it is connected.
For that address, the AS/400 has to create a Display Device.
To verify the Display Device creation, use the command:

      WRKCFGSTS *DEV DSPXXYYZZ

Where: XX is the Workstation Controller.
YY is the Line of the Workstation Controller where the PC/Workstation is
         connected.
ZZ is the Twinax address used by the PC/Workstation.

To verify the IP address assigned to the PC/Workstation, use the View option (5) of the
"Device description management" AS/400 function that can be activated with the command:
      WRKDEV DSPXXYYZZ
Assign the same IP address to the PC/Workstation using the TCP/IP protocol
configuration for the Twinax Adapter.

Note: If you can not use the AS/400 "Automatic Unit Configuration" (QAUTOCFG)
function or, if the Display Device that corresponds to the
PC/Workstation was not automatically created, you should create it as 5150
      Terminal Type Model 4.

NOTE: To use TCP/IP over Twinax, the OS/400 must be at V4R2 with PTF package
  C8045420 or higher.
