                         NE34OD.LAN Ver 2.30

Description:

  1. NE34OD.LAN is  a Novell 4.x Server Driver and  defaults to  the 802.2
     frame  type.

  2. If there is only one NE-34 PCI adapter, the driver will automatically
     read IOBASE and IRQ from PCI Configuration Space.

  3. If there exists mulitiple NE-34 PCI adapters in one system, user must
     input a specified IOBASE and IRQ.


Installation:

  1. Copy NE34OD.LAN into subdirectory - SYSTEM of your Netware server.
     If your system is Netware OS 3.x, you must copy
     MSM31X.NLM and ETHERTSM.NLM into the same subdirectory.
     For the system using Netware OS 4.x, you should copy the new version
     of the MSM.NLM and ETHERTSM.NLM into the same subdirectory.

  2. At Netware server prompt, type:
        :load NE34OD

  3. Bind IPX to the NE34OD LAN driver. At Netware server prompt, type:
        :bind ipx to NE34OD <enter>

  4. After pressing <enter>, the computer prompts you for Network number.


Troubles Shooting:

  1. Message---> Supported I/O port values are NONE.
                 All supported options are ALREADY in use.
                 SERVER-4.10-1553: Module initialization failed
                 Module NE34OD.LAN NOT loaded.

     Solution--> Make sure your NE-34 PCI card is plugged into the system.

  2. Message---> NE34OD-NW-066-Adapter 1-Board 1:
                 The cable might be disconnect on the board.

     Solution--> Make sure your NE-34 PCI card is connected to the cable.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
