This update creates a BIOS Flash Utility Floppy for version: 2.11 07-19-2001

Installation:
-------------
1. Ensure you copy these files to a boot floppy. 
   -For Win-ME systems, this requires the use of a system start-up floppy.
      Since Win-ME systems use FAT32, you may elect to copy these BIOS files to 
      a directory on the hard drive; C:\HP\BIOSupdt for example.
   -For Win-XP, you need to format a floppy as a boot floppy.
      Since a Win-XP boot floppy cannot access an NTFS-formatted hard drive, you need to 
      expanded these BIOS files to A:\
2. Once you boot from the floppy, position to where your expanded the BIOS files.
   -For Win-ME this may be C:\HP\BIOSupdt
   -For Win-XP they'll be on your floppy so no change of directory should be necessary.
3. Begin the BIOS update process by entering the command: BIOSupdt

4. When rebooting after the update, the following message may be displayed:

     0251: System CMOS checksum bad - Default configuration used
     Press <F1> to Setup, <F2> to Resume

5. Press F1 to enter SETUP
6. Press F5 to reset BIOS defaults.
7. Press F10 to exit SETUP saving your changes.
8. Press ENTER to confirm the save.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
