Thank you for purchasing Ricoh digital camera RDC-4000. This software is ready to be used for importing images taken by Ricoh digital camera RDC-4000 series.
 This software supports both the Ricoh digital camera RDC-4000 series and RDC-300.

Capability of this software
Able to import and export images from/to camera.
Images taken can be imported to Windows95 by connecting Ricoh digital camera RDC-300/RDC-4000 series and Windows95. 
Image data within Windows95 can be exported to RDC-300/RDC-4000 series.
Pictures can be taken automatically by controlling Ricoh digital camera from the Windows95 machine.
Images can be easily copied, moved, and searched by displaying a thumbnail list.

System environment
The following environment is required to run this software.
CPU: IntelDX4 or better (Pentium processor recommended)
OS: Windows95 (Running on WindowsNT4.0 confirmed)
Internal memory: 16MB or more
Available hard disk space for installation: 6MB or more
Display resolution: 640 x 480 dots or better (800x600 recommended or better)
Display color: 256 colors or more (32000 colors recommended or better)
Keyboard, mouse
Any keyboard or mouse that can be connected to Windows95.
CD-ROM drive
Any CD-ROM drive available for Windows95.

Available files
Files available for this software are only those handled by Ricoh digital camera RDC-300/RDC-4000 series.
Files are converted to the following formats when imported to Windows95.
Image files
Exif(*.jpg)
#Exif stands for EXchangeable Image Format with the "jpg" extension.
Sound file
WAVE (*.wav)
#WAVE is the sound file format proposed by Microsoft with the "wav" extension.

How to install
Insert the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.
Use Explorer by Microsoft to view the contents of the drive.
A folder corresponding to each language will be displayed.
Double click the setup.exe file.
Installation starts.

How to start
Select "Program" from the task bar to select DU-4.
DU-4 starts.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
