readme.txt Driver File Contents (Geforce2GoToshiba2805-402.zip)

Unfortunately Toshiba has not yet release a Windows XP Driver for it's 2805 Notebooks with Geforce 2 Go 16MB. Therefore I modified the released Win 2000 driver to work with WinXP. There will be no future updates to this. It works on my 2805-402.

Important improvements over Windows XP's built in driver:

* OpenGL
* Dual Monitor Support

Here's how it works:

1. Extract this file to any folder you like.
2. Right click on empty desktop space.
3. Select properties.
4. Click on the settings tab.
5. Click on advanced.
6. Click on adapter tab.
7. click on properties.
8. Click on driver tab.
9. Click on update driver.
10. Select "Install from a list or specific location" and click next.
11. Select "Don't search" and click next.
12. Select "Have disk"
13. "Browse" to your installation folder, click ok.
14. Select "Geforce 2 Go (Toshiba)".

Continue as prompted. IGNORE Windows complaining about the driver file not being saved! Continue anyway.

Done.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
