1) WHAT'S NEW IN THIS RELEASE
    ===========================
    -Added support for Network-Disabled Profiles in Windows NT 4.0
    -Fixes an issue with the IBM 380D docking station.
    -Added support for Ricoh controllers in Windows 95 OSR2.
    -Added modem sound support for most TI chipset machines under Windows 95/98 and NT.
    -Improves support for System Soft Card Wizard 4.1 under Windows NT.

2) CREATING AN INSTALL DISK FOR THIS HOT FIX
    =========================================
    -The CD-ROM includes two directories, DISK1 and DISK2, which contain files
     that can be copied to diskettes. This can be done manually or by running
     MAKEDISK.BAT. DISK1 includes the files necessary for DOS and Windows 3.X.
     DISK2 includes the files necessary for Windows 95, 98 and NT 4.0. (NDIS3
     drivers only).

     To generate the hot fix install disk, create Disk2 by either method and replace
     CBE.SYS, CBMODEM.SYS, and OEMSETNT.INF with the updated versions from this
     hot fix. This disk should be used for all new installations. For updating
     existing installations, please see the following sections.

3)  Updating Windows NT Installations
    =================================
    -The adapter must be completely removed from the configuration and then
     re-installed using the new drivers in order for the changes to take effect.
     Remove the installed Xircom CardBus CardBus Ethernet 10/100 network adapter
     from Control Panel/Network/Network adapters, and remove Xircom CardBus Modem 56
     from Control Panel/Modems. Reboot the machine, and reinstall the adapter using
     the updated hot fix disk.

4)  Updating Windows 95 OSR2 and Windows 98 Installations
    =====================================================
    -Do NOT remove the adapter installation. Copy the updated CBE.SYS file from
     the hot fix disk to the Windows/System directory on your laptop and reboot to
     load the updated drivers.

5) Release Notes and Known Limitations
    ===================================

 1. This release now includes support for use of a network-disabled
 hardware profile in Windows NT 4.0. Use of this feature allows
 the modem portion of the adapter to initialize while the network
 portion remains off. This is typically desirable for mobile use.

 In previous releases, this feature (selected via a checkbox
 displayed under Control Panel\System\Hardware Profiles\
 %profile_name%\Properties\Network) was disabled (the checkbox
 would appear grayed-out).

 Support for this feature has been implemented via two changes:

   An additional keyword has been added to the installation .INF
   file (OEMSETNT.INF);

   The modem enabler (CBMODEM.SYS) has been modified so that it
   now initializes as a stand-alone driver, without being
   dependent upon the network driver (CBE.SYS).

 Note the adapter must be completely removed from the configuration
 and then re-installed using the new drivers in order for this
 change to take effect. Once the new drivers are installed, the
 check box mentioned previously will now be active and can be
 selected if desired.

2. This release includes updated drivers which will now install and run
correctly with System Soft CardWizard 4.1 under Windows NT 4.0. However,
current releases of CardWizard do not support hot swap, hot insertion,
and suspend/resume functions with multifunction CardBus cards. Full
support is expected to be implemented in CardWizard 5.0.
