To ensure that COM2 shows up correctly in the Device Manager
------------------------------------------------------------

    Generic Ir Serial Port (COM2).

!! _NOTE_ !! It MUST say (COM2) to work!

If Generic IrDA Compatible Device appears, then remove it
and restart the computer. It should discover a Generic IR
Serial Port. Choose the default Windows driver and recheck
this step when Windows 95 is done finding things. If it
rediscovers a Generic IrDA Compatible Device then copy
    C:\OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WIN95\IRDA\MSPORTS.INF to the C:\WINDOWS\INF
directory, remove the "Generic IrDA Compatible Device" and try
    again.

Once it shows up as Generic Ir Serial Port (COM2), check that it
    has the following resources:

      Interrupt Request 03
      Input/Output Range 2F8-2FF
      Direct Memory Access 03

 2. If COM2 is present but the resources are wrong, highlight COM2
    and press the Remove button.

 3. If COM2 is not present or its resources were wrong, use
Regedit to remove existing COM2 references in the Registry and
reboot so Windows will do a hardware search to rediscover it.

To install IR Monitor for Windows 95
------------------------------------

 1. Run C:\OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WIN95\IRDA\SETUP.EXE

 2. Choose National Semiconductor for the manufacturer.

 3. Choose COM2 when it asks for the COM port.

 4. Choose COM4 and LPT3 as the virtual IR devices (the default).

If a dialog box appears asking if you want to keep the
existing version of SERIAL.VXD, choose No.

 5. Click Finish to exit the setup program.

 6. Run C:\OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WIN95\IRDA\FASTIR.BAT and close the
    DOS window it generates.
