INSTALLING OS/2 SOUND SUPPORT

OS/2 Warp 4 includes sound support for the HP OmniBook 5700. Unfortunately
the built in sound drivers do not support sound in Windows sessions. If you
would like sound in your Windows sessions install the OS/2 sound drivers that
ship with the OmniBook 5700.

Requirements
============
     * HP OmniBook 5700 with OS/2 Warp or Warp Connect Installed.

     * HP OmniBook drivers for the Sound. This driver is located on the hard
       drive in the C:\OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\OS2\SOUND subdirectory. These files
       are available after finishing the selection of Windows 95 or Windows
       for Workgroups. This driver is also located on the HP OmniBook Recovery
       CD in the \DRIVERS\OS2\SOUND subdirectory.

Procedure
=========
1. Open an OS/2 Command Prompt.

2. Goto the MMOS2 directory and type MINSTALL.

3. Select the drive and directory containing the SOUND drivers (i.e. A:\SOUND).

4. Confirm that Crystal Audio and IBMOPL3 FM MIDI are selected and click [OK].
   (Do not install IBM MPU-401 MIDI it is built into OS/2 Warp 4.)

5. Click on the [YES] button to accept changes to CONFIG.SYS file.

   to activate sound in Windows sessions.
