Imation USB SuperDisk(tm) Drive for the PC

This page contains important information on the installation procedure for 
this drive, please read this before installing the driver software.

Check the Imation web page for possible driver updates. We recommend you use 
the most recently available drivers for optimal performance.  
The Windows 98(tm) drivers are version 3.00 as of this writing.

USB READY
What USB Support is needed for the SuperDisk drive.

	1)USB Ports must be present on the host computer.
	2)The USB Ports must be enabled in the system BIOS. See your 
          computers user manual on how to enable the USB ports if they are 
          not now enabled.
	3)The operating system must be Windows 98/98SE. 

NOTE: Support in Windows 95B with the USB Supplement (OSR 2.1) is not 
recommended for the SuperDisk drive.

If you do not know if your system is USB ready or are having USB problems, 
you can download a utility that will examine the system's USB readiness for 
you. The download is free at http://www.usb.org. Click on the 'USB-ready' 
link and then click on 'USB evaluation utility' called usbready.exe. 

Double click on usbready.exe and follow the on screen directions.


DRIVER INSTALLATION:

IMPORTANT: For first time installation of the driver please follow the 
recommended procedure below. 

Recommended Install Procedure.

	1) Close your browser before proceeding with the installation.
	2) Be sure the system is USB ready. (See Above.)
	3) Make the drive ready for USB hot plugging.
		a) Connect the USB adapter to the rear of the drive. 
		b) Attach the power adapter to the drive.
		c) Apply power to the drive.

	4) With your system booted into Windows 98/98 SE, and all applications 
           closed, plug in the USB connector to an available USB connector or 
           hub connected to your system.
	5) New hardware will be detected by Windows, and the Add New Hardware 
           Wizard will launch. 	Direct the Wizard to the installation CD to 
           find the USB driver. The driver files will be installed, and a 
           supplementary installation program will also launch to complete 
           the driver install, add icon support, and install the uninstall 
           utility.
	6) After the driver installs the first time it is recommended that 
           you restart the system.

This CD is a hybrid CD which can be read on both PC (DOS and Windows(tm)) 
based systems and Macintosh (tm) systems.

A Macintosh compatible driver is included on this CD.

NOTE: Macintosh formatted disks are not readable on a PC without special 
software.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
