			Installing Video Support

System Installation Requirements

HP OmniBook with Windows 95 installed. 

HP OmniBook Video Drivers.  These drivers are located on the hard disk in
   C:\OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WIN95\VIDEO.  These drivers are also located on the
   HP OmniBook Recovery CD in the \OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WIN95\VIDEO
   directory.

Copy the files in directories Disk1 and Disk2 onto two 3.5 inch floppies.  Be
sure to label them as Disk1 and Disk2, then close all currently running
applications, then follow this procedure:

1.  Execute SETUP.EXE on Disk1 and then click on 'Finish' from the resulting
    dialog box.

2.  When prompted, insert Disk2.

3.  The next dialog box will prompt you to restart your computer to complete	
    the installation.  Click on 'Yes'.


	After your OmniBook reboots, you will then need to define your monitor 
type.  To do that, follow this procedure:

1.  Bring up Display Properties (Control Panal/Display)

2   Choose the 'Settings' tab.

3.  Click on 'Advanced Properties'.

4.  Choose the 'Monitor' tab.

5.  Press the 'Change' button.

6.  Highlight 'Laptop Display Panel (1024x768) and press 'OK'.

7.  Press 'Close' and then Windows 95 will set the optimum refresh rate.

8.  Press 'Ok' on resulting dialog boxes until the Display Properties is 
    closed.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
