The system must contain the following Intel product: Intel(R) Celeron (TM) Processor 2. The kit software should be installed on systems with at least 64 MB of system memory. 3. There should be sufficient hard disk space in the <TEMP> directory (typically C:\WINDOWS\TEMP) on the system, in order to install this software. The Microsoft* Windows* 2000 INF files included with this distribution package are designed to function with the following version: Microsoft* Windows* 2000 Please check with your system provider to determine the operating system and Intel product used in your system. ************************************************************ * 2. INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE ************************************************************ General Installation Notes: 1. The operating system must be installed on the system prior to installation. 2. This installation procedure is specific only to the version of driver and installation file included in this release. 3. You can choose from four different methods of installation for this release. The files that must be downloaded for each are indicated in the appropriate section: 1) InstallShield* (automated) install from hard drive See Section 3.1 2) InstallShield* (automated) install from CD-ROM See Section 3.1 3) Manual install from hard drive See Section 3.2 4) Manual install from CD-ROM See Section 3.2 3.1. INSTALLSHIELD* (AUTOMATED) INSTALL FROM HARD DRIVE OR CD-ROM 1. Download the graphics file from the Web and double-click to unzip. (You must have WinZip* installed; download it from www.winzip.com). Click on the Extract button and indicate the directory into which the files are to be extracted. Click on the Extract button to unzip the files to that directory. If you wish to install from the CD-ROM, then the files must be transferred to a CD. 2. Enter the directory where you unzipped the graphics file and double-click on the Setup icon. If you wish to use the CD-ROM, the installer will begin automatically, if Autorun is enabled. Otherwise, enter the Graphics directory on the CD-ROM and double-click on the Setup icon. 3. The Welcome window appears. Click on the Next button to continue. 4. The Software Licence Agreement window appears. Click on the Yes button and the driver begins to install. 5. The Setup Complete window appears. Select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" and click on the Finish button. 6. To verify if the driver has been loaded correctly, refer to Section 4. 3.2. MANUAL INSTALL FROM HARD DRIVE OR CD-ROM 1. Download the graphics file from the Web and double-click to unzip. (You must have WinZip* installed; download it from www.winzip.com). Click on the Extract button and indicate the directory into which the files are to be extracted. Click on the Extract button to unzip the files to that directory. If you wish to install from the CD-ROM, then the files must be transferred to a CD. 2. Double-click on the My Computer icon, then the Control Panel icon, and then the System icon. 3. The System Properties window appears. Select the Hardware tab and under "Device Manager," click on the Device Manager... button. 4. The Device Manager window appears. Double-click on the Display Adapters icon and then the driver associated with the display adapter. 5. A new window appears. Select the Driver tab and click on the Update Driver... button. 6. The Upgrade Device Driver Wizard window appears. Click on the Next button to continue. 7. There are two choices prompting either for automatic or manual selection. Click on the following option: "Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver" and then click on the Next button. 8. Click on the Have Disk... button. 9. The Install From Disk window appears. Click on the Browse... button. 10. The Locate File window appears. Enter the directory where you unzipped the graphics file, then enter the Graphics subdirectory, and then enter the Win2000 subdirectory. Select the appropriate .inf file and click on the Open button. 11. The Install From Disk window appears. Click on the OK button. 12. The Upgrade Device Driver Wizard window appears, listing the available display types. Select the appropriate display type and click on the Next button. 13. Click on the Next button to continue and the driver begins to install. 14. Click on the Finish button, when completed. 15. Close all open windows and click on the Yes button to reboot. To verify if the driver has been loaded correctly, refer to Section 4. ************************************************************ * 4. VERIFYING INSTALLATION OF THE * SOFTWARE ************************************************************ 1. Double-click on the My Computer icon, then the Control Panel icon, and then the System icon. 2. The System Properties window appears. Select the Hardware tab and under "Device Manager," click on the Device Manager... button. 3. The Device Manager window appears. Double-click on the Display Adapters icon. The driver associated with the display adapter should be the appropriate display type selected. If not, then a different driver is being used and the driver must be reinstalled. 4. To check the version of the driver, refer to Section 5. ************************************************************ * 5. IDENTIFYING THE SOFTWARE VERSION * NUMBER ************************************************************ 1. Double-click on the My Computer icon, then the Control Panel icon, and then the System icon. 2. The System Properties window appears. Select the Hardware tab and under "Device Manager," click on the Device Manager... button. 3. The Device Manager window appears. Double-click on the Display Adapters icon and then the driver associated with the display adapter. 4. A new window appears. Select the Driver tab. Beside "Driver Version:," the driver version number associated with the display adapter should be the appropriate display type version number selected. If not, then a different driver is being used and the driver must be reinstalled. ************************************************************ * 6. UNINSTALLING THE SOFTWARE ************************************************************ NOTE: This procedure assumes that the above installation process was successful. This uninstallation procedure is specific only to the version of the driver and installation file included in this package. 1. Select the Hardware tab and under "Device Manager," click on the Device Manager... button. 3. The Device Manager window appears. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
