 HSP K56Flex Internal Modem/PCMCIA Drivers
    Device Driver : Version 7.55 Release s8

Thank you for purchasing this HSP modem.
Please note that these drivers will not achieve true 56K bps.*
The normal connecting rate varies from 40kbps to 46kbps in most good analog line.
If this driver doesn't allows you to achieve > 33.6kbps, it may be due to your phone line.

REMOVING OLDER VERSION OF HSP MODEM DRIVER
==================================================
If an older version of driver exists, please run UNINST.EXE first from this driver.

INSTALLING THE HSP V.90/K56FLEX Driver
=================================
Please install the modem card into your computer before you proceed. Refer to the
User Guide for more information on modem installation.
1. Power-up the computer and start Windows 95.
2. A message “New Hardware Found” will appear on the screen for this new modem.
3. Insert the Installation Disk or CD that contains the K56Flex device driver for your
   new modem.
4. Click the NEXT button to search for the driver from the floppy disk.
5. If the new device is not found, click on Other Locations button and specify your floppy
   disk a:\ or b:\, and click the OK button. Click on the OK button again to continue.
6. The new modem device will be identified. Click FINISH button to continue the installation.
7. The copying process will start. If the driver is not found, specify a:\ or b:\ in
   the dialog box - “Copy files from”. Click the OK button to continue.
8. When the copying is done, your modem is ready to be used.

ENHANCEMENT FOR MMX PC SYSTEM

This driver integrates the MMX enhanced driver. 

UNINSTALLING THE HSP MODEM DRIVER
=========================================
Uninstall are easily done from the CONTROL PANEL in Windows.
1. Run HSP MODEM from the CONTROL PANEL.
2. Click on the UNINSTALL BUTTON.
3. Please wait until a message indicates that the modem was UNINSTALLED.
4. SHUTDOW Windows to remove the Modem card.
5. If the HSP modem is still found, the Windows will detects a new device all over again.

Alternativly, please run UNINST.EXE from this driver.

* The condition of the local loop will determine the actual performance level achieved.
  Some lines may not reach 56Kbps due to the phone line impediments (the line quality).
  However in the USA, K56Flex will be effectively limited to 53K due to FCC limitations.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
