INSTALLING WINDOWS IRDA DRIVERS

REQUIREMENTS
* HP OmniBook 2000/5700 installed with Windows 3.1 or Windows for
Workgroups
* HP OmniBook 2000/5700 IrDA driver. The driver is located on the
OmniBook hard disk in C:\OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WFW\IRDA. These files
are available after finishing the selection of Windows 95 or
Windows for Workgroups during the pre-install process. This driver
is also located on the HP OmniBook Recovery CD in the
\DRIVERS\WFW\IRDA directory.
PROCEDURE
1. Start Windows
2. Go to the File menu and choose Run
3. Enter C:\OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WFW\IRDA\SETUP, or where ever the driver install
resides.
4. A blue screen will be displayed showing the IrMonitor Setup progrm.
5. Press [Next]
6. Accept the default "{Generic built-in infrared on laptop or destop}. Press
[Next].
7. Press [Next] to select the maximum communications speed.
8. Select COM2 as the Physical IR Port.
9. Press [Enter]
10. Click [Next] to accept the default COM4 (Infrared Serial Port) and LPT3
(Infrared Printer Port).
11. Enter your Computer Name.
12. Continue with the default C:\WINDOWS\IRMON directory. Press [Enter].
13. Exit the setup program.
14. From File Manager, copy C:\OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WFW\IRDA\SERIAL31.386 to
C:\WINDOWS\IRMON\SERIAL31.386. This will overwrite the current file
at that location.
15. Exit Windows and reboot.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
