HP OMNIBOOK 2000/5700 NOTEBOOK PC - WINDOWS 3.1 OR WINDOWS FOR WORKGROUPS
3.11, INSTALLING CD-ROM DRIVERS

INTRODUCTION

The HP OmniBook 2000/5700 Notebook PC includes Microsoft (R) Windows
for Workgroups 3.11 as one choice for the preloaded and preconfigured
operating system. If installing retail Windows for Workgroups 3.11
or Windows 3.1, follow these instructions to install the OmniBook
CD-ROM drivers for the OmniBook CD-ROM drive.

REQUIREMENTS

     * HP OmniBook 2000/5700 Notebook PC with Microsoft Windows 3.1 or
          Windows for Workgroups 3.11 installed.

     * HP OmniBook 2000/5700 Notebook PC CD-ROM drivers. Obtain the drivers
from the hard disk in the C:\OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WFW\CDROM directory or
from the HP OmniBook 2000/5700 Notebook PC Recovery CD in the
          \OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WFW\CDROM directory.

PROCEDURE

     1. Exit Windows.

     2. At the MS-DOS command prompt, go to the directory that
contains the CD-ROM drivers. For example, on the hard disk type

               C:

               CD \OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WFW\CDROM

     3. Start the installation by typing

               TOSH

Then follow the prompts. Select the default choices, but
read them carefully. HP recommends installing all files into
C:\CDROM. Allow the install program to change the CONFIG.SYS
          and AUTOEXEC.BAT files.

     4. Remove the Support Utility disk, then press CTRL+ALT+DEL to
reboot the HP OmniBook Notebook PC. The internal CD-ROM is
          then ready for use.

The following lines from CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT are the
standard HP OmniBook Notebook PC entries:

          CONFIG.SYS

REM Enable HP OmniBook Notebook PC internal CD-ROM driver...

               device=c:\cdrom\d011v200.sys /d:mscd001 /n:1 /s:170,15,0

          AUTOEXEC.BAT

               c:\dos\mscdex.exe /d:mscd001
