HP OMNIBOOK 2000/5700 NOTEBOOK PC - MICROSOFT (R) WINDOWS NT 3.51, INSTALLING VIDEO DRIVERS REQUIREMENTS ============ * HP OmniBook 2000/5700 Notebook PC with Windows NT installed. * HP OmniBook 2000/5700 video drivers. Copy all files located in C:\OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\NT\VIDEO.351 to A: to create the "Video Drivers" diskette. Or obtain the drivers from the HP OmniBook 2000/5700 Recovery CD located in the \OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\NT\VIDEO.351 subdirectory. NOTE: To install correctly, the drivers must be in the root directory of the diskette. PROCEDURE ========= 1. Open Control Panel, choose Display. 2. Choose the Change Display Type button. 3. Under Adapter Type, choose the Change button. 4. Choose the Other button (located at the bottom-right side of the window). 5. When prompted, insert the drivers floppy disk and type the path to the HP OmniBook video drivers (such as A:\) and choose OK. 6. Under Models, "Chips And Technologies Video Controller" is highlighted by default. Choose the Install button. 7. When warned that the operation will change your system configuration, choose Yes to continue. 8. When prompted for the path to the OEM display driver files, type the path to the HP OmniBook video drivers (such as A:\) and choose Continue. 9. When prompted that the drivers were successfully installed, choose the OK button to continue. 10. When prompted that the driver could not be started dynamically, choose the OK button to continue. 11. When prompted to restart Windows for the settings to take effect, remove the diskette from drive A (if applicable), then choose Restart Now. 12. When prompted, log on to Windows NT by providing a user name and password (if applicable). At this point, a new graphics driver has been installed. The default display resolution has been temporarily used by the system. 13. Open Control Panel, choose Display. 14. In the Display Settings window, change the display resolution to 800 x 600. The HP OmniBook Notebook PC default number of colors is 256. Choose the Test button to apply and test the display settings. Choose OK to continue. 15. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
