     QLOGIC DMI MANAGEMENT APPLICATION SETUP DISKETTE
     ------------------------------------------------

This README.TXT is a simplified help on QLogic DMI Adapter
Management Application.

Together with QLogic DMI Instrumentation, this application
allow QLogic host bus adapter to be managed and controlled
by any DMI-compliant management application.

The QLogic Adapter DMI Management Application is a 
stand-alone application that serves as the interface between
the users and the QLogic host bus adapter.

It communicate to the Adapter Instrumentation through the
DMI Service Layer.

The QLogic Adapter DMI Management Application can be 
installed and excuted on the same machine where the QLogic
host bus adapters are installed or from any machine on the
network for remote management.

The DMI Management Application also requires the Intel 
DMI 2.0 Service Provider.

To install the QLogic Adapter DMI Instrumentation, run 
SETUP.EXE from the QLogic DMI Applications Installation 
Diskette and select the component named QLogic Adapter DMI
Management Application.

Intel DMI 2.0 Service Provider
-------------------------------
The QLogic DMI MAnagement Application requires the installation
and execution of the Intel DMI 2.0 Service Provider to run.

This Service Provider translates all DMI function calls
between the instrumentation and the management application.
In the case of remote DMI connection, it also handles all
network traffic between the two components.

To install the Intel DMI 2.0 Service Provider, run SETUP.EXE
from the Intel DMI 2.0 Service Provider Installation Diskette.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
