Printers & Screen Fonts Installation
--------------------------------------------------------------------
To install the printers and the screen fonts in your Windows, use the
Install Program.
Follow the instructions shown below:
1) Turn on your computer and start Windows.
2) From the "File" menu of the Program Manager, choose the "Run" item.
3) Insert disk 1 to your drive A (3.5 " disk drive).
4) Enter "A:\INSTALL" to the Command Line box and press "Enter".
(If you insert the disk to a different disk drive, replace A
with the approprtiate drive letter.)
5) The installer starts and prompts you for the backup filename of the
current WIN.INI.
If you want to change the backup filename from WIN.BAK to another
filename, enter the name before you click "OK".
6) Follow the on-screen instructions.
When the installation ends, choose "OK" in the "Information" window
and reboot Windows.
(If you use Windows NT 3.51 / 4.0, please reboot NT system manually)

300 dpi printing on EPL-5600, EPL-9000 ,or ActionLaser 1600
--------------------------------------------------------------------
For the EPL-5600, ActionLaser 1600, or EPL-9000, the Windows printer
driver is optimized for a printer resolution of 600 dpi. If your
printer is configured for 300 dpi, optimize the driver for 300 dpi
printing as follows:
1) Double-click the "Printers" icon in the Control Panel window.
2) Select "EPSON EPL-5600 EpsonScript...", "EPSON AL-1600 EpsonScript
...", or "EPSON EPL-9000 EpsonScript..." in the "Installed
Printers" list.
3) Choose the "Setup..." button, then choose the "Advanced..." button.
4) Change the "Resolution (DPI)" setting to 300 in the "Graphics"
category.
5) Change the "Halftone Frequency" to 60 by typing "60" instead of
85.
6) Make sure the "Halftone Angle" is 45.
7) Choose "OK" to exit each dialog and return to the Main window.
Note: Some application software may override the printer's defaults with
user-selectable values from its menus. In this case, it is
recommended that you try the following settings, depending upon
the resolution of printer's hardware panel:
Resolution 600 dpi 300 dpi
Halftone Frecuency 85 60
Halftone Angle 45 45

Possible Problems
--------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Installing Screen Fonts
When the same screen fonts have been installed on Windows 3.1 system,
Installation of screen fonts may not complete correctly.
In that case, delete 'tib_.ttf' from Windows' system directory before
installation.
2) EPSONScript NT 3.51 Driver
When Smart Underlining is checked, the print may not be correct depending
on the application.
When paper feed sequence sets 'First -> Manual feed Next -> Auto,
Standard Tray or Lower Cassette 1', Printer pull paper as Manual
feeding.
To recover this situation, select pull paper from AUTO instead.
Inconsistent setting of Printing Resolution between setting of Print
Manager and the application may cause incorrect printing.
For example, resolution set 300dpi from Print Manager and resolution
set 600dpi from printer property of applications.
In this case, the setting in Print Manager set 'Printer's Default',
and set the resolution which you want.
EPSONScript NT driver does not work on Windows NT Workstation
Ver. 3.5.
Please do not use characters ( ,) or - for Printer's Name. Some
applications may not work correctly with the printer containing such
character.
3) Windows 95 Mini driver
The default paper size depends on the application software even if you install
EPL-N1200(A4) or EPL-N1200(LT) or EPL-N2000(A4) or EPL-N2000(LT).
4) Windows NT 4.0 Mini driver
When use driver's halftone setting, set 'Use System Halftone' in
Properties of the driver's icon in Printers folder.
Unavailable papers may appear in Paper Size menu. Refer to the
printer's manual for available papers.

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
