              Driver Installation for LANtastic 6.0/7.0/8.0
          =======================================================

In this driver release, the NDIS2 drivers and a Native mode driver are
provided for the Lantastic 6.x/7.x/8.0 installation.

The Native mode driver has a smaller footprint in memory when loaded and is
the recommended driver.

The Native mode driver ET32AI.EXE located in the subdirectory \ARTISOFT\DOS
and is used for LANtastic for Dos and Windows 3.x

The Instructions for using the NDIS2 drivers are located lower in the
document.  To Install the Native mode driver use the following instructions.

Install LANtastic 6.x/7.x/8.0 as normal and choose the NodeRunner adapter as
your adapter.  After the Install is completed change to the directory you
installed LANtastic to (Normally c:\lantasti) and Edit the Startnet.bat.
Change the NR line to say ET32/P2.  Now copy ET32AI.EXE from this floppy to
the directory you installed LANtastic to (Normally c:\lantasti).

The NDIS2 driver, ET32ND.DOS, is located in subdirectory \NDIS.DOS
And it's used for Lantastic for DOS and Windows installation.

   This driver can be used for Lantastic for DOS and Windows installation.

   This information covers the following two topics:

   * Installing NDIS2 driver for LANtastic 6.0 and 7.0 for Windows 3.1x
   * Installing NDIS2 driver for LANtastic 6.0 and 7.0 for DOS

   For Windows 3.1x installation :
   -------------------------------

   1. Insert LANtastic INSTALL diskette into the drive.
      Then type INSTALL from your drive.

   2. Follow the on-screen installation procedures until you reach the
      "Select network adapter" screen.

   3. Select "NDIS Support for Network Adapters" and press "OK" button.

   4. You will be prompted for entering the driver directory on the
      "Enter NDIS driver directory" screen. Remove the Lantastic diskette
      from the drive and insert the adapter driver diskette. Type

                A:\NDIS.DOS

   5. The system will copy the necessary driver files from the driver
      diskette into your Lantastic system directory.

   6. Complete the rest of installation.


   For DOS installation :
   ----------------------

   1. Insert the LANtastic INSTALL diskette into the drive. Then type INSTALL
      from your  drive .

   2. Follow the on-screen installation procedures until you reach the
      the network adapter installation screen.

   3. Select "NDIS Support for Network Adapters" and press <Enter> key.

   4. You will be prompted for entering driver directory on the "Install
      the NDIS driver for your Network Adapter" screen. Remove the
      Lantastic diskette from the drive and insert the adapter driver
      diskette. Type

      -------->    A:\NDIS.DOS

   5. The system will copy the necessary driver files from the driver
      diskette into your LANtastic system directory.

   6. Complete the rest of installation.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
