Engineering Release date : Jan 11, 2000
Product Name : Megaraid HBA Driver Floppy Ver1.31
                           for Unixware 7.x and 2.x.x

Component Name(s) and Version #:
-------------------------------
Components: For SCO Unixware 7.x and 2.x.x.
             ----------------------------------
		     Installation Package Version : 1.31
                     Driver Version : 1.31
                     MegaManager Version : 4Ch-2.17
                     Monitor Version : 1.01

Changes in driver 1.31
----------------------
1. Fixed a panic with 'dd' utility on tape drives. Stopped
accepting the application mapped direct addresses which
fixes the problem of wrong addresses while copying data
in case of a 'dd' command. Included the megamanager
utility with 8 Logical drive support.

Additional Driver Features:
---------------------------
Non-Disk Support : Yes
Multithreaded : Yes
MP-support : Yes
HOT PLUG PCI Support : No
DDI Version : 7.1mp
SDI Version : 2

Changes in driver 1.30
----------------------
1. Slight modification in the Space.c file to eliminate
a spurious message whenever the driver gets loaded on
   Unixware 2.x
2. Updated Megamgr version 4Ch-2.14. The default policy for
   new logical drives changed to:
      Stripe: 64KB
      Read Policy: Normal
      Cache Policy: Direct
      Write Policy:
      		WRTHRU for Raid=0
WRTHRU for Raid=Non-RAID0 on no-battery card
WRBACK for Raid=Non-RAID0 with battery card .
Note: The Write policy for New logical drives is forced to default
values on change of RAID selection in Raid Selection option of
NewLogicalDrive. For example, if default RAID selected was raid=1
and then user changes it to raid=0, the write policy is
automatically changed to WRTHRU. Similaryly, if it's changed
back to raid=1,the write policy is also changed back to WRBAK.
The user always has option of using a different value by
re-entering advanced menu after user changes the RAID-selection.

Changes in driver 1.29
----------------------
1. This driver works around the difficulty of firmware
difficulty to DMA to/from non-disk devices with >2GB of
   system memory.
2. Expanded the range of BIOS ROM search from 0xcd000 to
   0xf0000.

Changes in driver 1.27
----------------------
1. This driver fixes the deadlock condition upon an ioctl
   request in a multiprocessor environment.
2. Megamgr updated to support up to 4 channels.
3. Megamgr displays span type (4 or 8) in "View Adapters Properties".
4. Megamgr supports maximum of 12 adapters.

Known Restrictions/Limitations
------------------------------
1) When installing Unixware7.X on a system using the 762 Megaraid
Express controller, you have to disable the Symbios driver from
loading by going into the DCU (Device Configuration Utility),
from there go into the Software Device Drivers menu, and then
to the Host Bus Adapter menu. Find the c7xx and c8xx drivers
and remove the asterisk (*) sign from the box next to their
name, this will disable the Symbios driver from being loaded.
2) Megaraid adapter should be set to mass storage as opposed to I2O
when being used as the Primary boot device.
3) On the MegaPlex system, the MPS option in the BIOS has to be set
to 1.1 for Unixware (the default is 1.4 for the other OS’s).
If it is not, the system will hang on the IDE driver.
4) The CD-ROM and Tape drives can be connected to only target
   IDs 5 and 6.

Installation Instructions
-------------------------
The image provided with this release is a DOS-readable file. Use
the RWFLOPPY.EXE utility to convert the image into a package file
for SCO Unixware. If the image is on your hard drive, put a diskette
in the floppy drive and type

rwfloppy -w filename.img

The output of RWFLOPPY.EXE will be a diskette formatted for SCO
Unixware containing the package file needed for installation.
