			Installing Sound Drivers

System Installation Requirements

HP OmniBook 800 with Windows 95 installed.

HP OmniBook 800 Audio Drivers.  These drivers are located on the hard disk in
   C:\OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WIN95\SOUND.  These drivers are also located on the
   HP OmniBook 800MMX Recovery CD in the \OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WIN95\SOUND
   directory.

Procedure

1. Copy all files in this directory onto a 3.5 in floppy.

2. Have Windows 95 up and running on your OmniBook 800, with
   AC power adapter and floppy drive attached.
	
3. Bring up the Control Panel and double click on the "Add New 
   Hardware" icon.

4. Click Next, then select "No" when prompted to let Windows search
   for new hardware.  Then clink Next again.

5. Scroll Down and highlight "Sound, video and game controllers", then
   clink on next.

6. Insert the floppy you created in step one into your 3.5 inch floppy.

7. Press the "Have Disk" button and then press OK in the Install From
   Disk dialog box.

8. Click on OK in the Open dialog box and then OK in the Install from
   Disk dialog box.

9. Highlight ES1887 Plug and Play AudioDrive in the Select Device 
   dialog box.

10. Click on "Finish" and then answer yes to the "Do you want to 
    restart your computer now?" question, to make your changes active.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
