			Installing OBIO.INF and OBIR.INF

System Installation Requirements

HP OmniBook 800 with Windows 95 installed.

NOTE:
Following this procedure will allow certain hardware devices to be recognized 
by the Windows 95 Device Manager.  Performing or not performing this procedure
will have no effect on the performance of your OmniBook 800.  It will just
provide descriptive names to the devices in question.

Procedure

1.  Copy the files in C:\OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WIN95\MISC\WINDOWS\INF into the
    C:\WINDOWS\INF directory on your OmniBook 800.
2.  Open up the Control Panel
3.  Select 'System' icon.
4.  Select the 'Device Manager' tab.
5.  Double click on the 'Other devices' item.
6.  Click on one of the 'PCI Card' to highlight it, then click on 'Remove'.
    Select 'OK'  on the 'Confirm Device Removal' dialog box.
7.  Click on the other 'PCI Card' to highlight it, then click on 'Remove'.
    Select 'OK'  on the 'Confirm Device Removal' dialog box.
8.  Close the Device Manager and restart your computer.
9.  Devices will be added automatically when Windows 95 restarts.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
