Introduction:

    This document shows you how to setup the driver in Windows operating system.

Installation for Windows 95/95OSR2/98SE/ME/2000/XP
=============
    1. Turn on the power of your PC on to boot from Windows operating system.
       Windows will auto-detect your new adapter, and the "New Hardware Found"
       dialogue box will appear. Select "Driver from disk provided by hardware
       manufacturer" to install driver from the diskette that comes with your
       LAN adapter.

    2. Insert the driver utility CD into your cdrom drive, and specify the
       path of the driver in the diskette(i.e. E:\Drivers\Lan) to copy the driver
       files to your system.

    3. When the driver installation is completed, restart Windows.

Installation for Windows NT 3.51/4.0
=============
    1. Open "Control Panel" -> "Networks", and choose the "Add Adapter" button.
       The Add Noetwork Adapter dialog box appears.  Select "<other> Requires
       disk from manufacturer" in the list of Network Adapters, and then press
       <Enter>.
    2. Insert the driver utility CD into your cdrom drive, and specify the
       path of the driver in the diskette(i.e. E:\Drivers\Lan) if necessary.

    3. Select "VIA PCI 10/100Mb Fast Ethernet Adapter", and start to copy the
       driver files to your system.

    4. After all the driver files have been copied to your system, a property
       dialog box appears in the screen. You can enable the special properties
       if you want to.

    5. When the driver installation is completed, restart your PC.

       in your driver utility CD under the directory path "Drivers\Lan".
    1. The NDIS2 and ODI drivers are only supported in Windows 95.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
