IBM.txt Driver File Contents (nt_3671.exe)

 This file describes how to use this diskette on Windows 95, Windows 98 and
Windows NT4.


1: Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT4 Driver installation Guide

1-1: Windows 95 (all versions), Windows 98, Windows NT4.
    (1) Open "My Computer" icon, then "Floppy A:"
    (2) Double click on "MGASETUP.EXE"
    (3) Follow on screen instructions to install the display driver.
    (4) Ensure the PC is rebooted before continuing.

Driver install will set 1024 x 768 and 16 bit colour. This is the IBM default
settings.

When installing applications, utilities and games, for best system performance select
the IBM default screen resolution and colour.

2: Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT4 Monitor selection
 The IBM range of flat panel monitors are plug and play compatible for correct
operation with the drivers supplied. However, to display the actual monitor type in
display properties you should install the supplied INF file:

2-1: Checking the version of Windows.
    (1) Click "Start", then select "Settings", "Control Panel".
    (2) Click "System". System property window will appear.
    (3) Check the version shown in this window.
      Version "4.00.950"   --> go to 2-2: 
      Version "4.00.950a"  --> go to 2-2:
      Version "4.00.950B"  --> go to 2-3:
      Version "4.10.1998"  --> go to 2-3:
      Version "4.00.1381"  --> go to 2-2:


2-2: Windows 95, 4.00.950/4.00.950a / Windows NT4
    (1) Click "Start", then select "Settings", "Control Panel".
    (2) Click "Display". Display property window will open.
    (3) Select "Settings" tab and click "Change display type".
    (4) Click "Change" of Monitor type.
    (5) Click "Have disk".
    (6)  Insert "Installation diskette" into floppy drive A.
        Specify the path to the INF file(A:\) and click "OK".
        Then, "Select device" window will appear. 
    (7)  Select the monitor connected to your computer
        and click "OK". In case you cannot find your monitor name,
        select "show all devices" option.
         Click "OK"
    (8) Specify the path to the INF file(A:\).

    Windows 95 will copy INF and ICM files into system directory.
    Close "display property window".
    
    

2-3: Windows 95, 4.00.950B / Windows 98
    (1) Click "Start", then select "Settings", "Control Panel".
    (2) Click "Display". Display property window will open.
    (3) Select "Settings" tab and click "Advanced properties".
    (4) Select "Monitor" tab Click "Change".
    (5) Click "Have disk".
    (6)  Insert "Installation diskette" into floppy drive A.
        Specify the path to the INF file(A:\) and click "OK".
        Then, "Select device" window will appear. 
    (7)  Select the monitor connected to your computer
        and click "OK". In case you cannot find your monitor name,
        select "show all devices" option.
         Click "OK"
    (8) Specify the path to the INF file(A:\).

    Windows 95 / 98 will copy INF and ICM files into system directory.
    Close "display property window".

 IBM LCD monitors are designed to show their best performance when
refresh rate is set to 60Hz. 9513T55D (digital) monitors can only be set to
this refresh rate. 9513T55A (analogue) monitors may be set to different rates
however, IBM recommend you to set the refresh rate to 60Hz on your system to
see best image quality.
 How to change refresh rate is described in the section 3 of this document.

3: Changing refresh rate
3-1: Windows 95, 4.00.950/4.00.950a
    (1) Click "Start", then select "Settings", "Control Panel".
    (2) Click "Display". Display property window will open.
    (3) "Refresh rate" or "Adjustment" tab may appear if your
        system supports refresh-rate adjustment function.
    (4) Select 60Hz.(See manual of system and graphic card).

     If you cannot change refresh rate, read manual of your system and
    graphic card.

3-2: Windows 95, 4.00.950B / Windows 98
    (1) Click "Start", then select "Settings", "Control Panel".
    (2) Click "Display". Display property window will open.
    (3) Select "Settings" tab and click "Advanced properties".
    (4) Select "Adapter" tab. "Refresh rate" will appear if your
        system supports refresh-rate adjustment function.
    (5) Select 60Hz.(See manual of system and graphic card).

     If you cannot change refresh rate, read manual of your system and
    graphic card.

3-3: Windows NT
    (1) Click "Start", then select "Settings", "Control Panel".
    (2) Click "Display". Display property window will open.
    (3) Select "Settings". "Refresh rate" will appear if your
        system supports refresh-rate adjustment function.
    (4) Select 60Hz.(See manual of system and graphic card).

     If you cannot change refresh rate, read manual of your system and
    graphic card.

3-4: IBM-PC BIOS setting
    On some IBM-PC, you can change the refresh rate in BIOS setting menu.
    (1) Power on your computer.
    (2) Press F1 Key to enter Configuration setup or Setup utility menu.
    (3) Select devices and I/O ports.
    (4) Select video setup.
    (5) Set refresh rate to 60Hz.
    
    This is a typical procedure. It may differ on your system.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
