ES1868 ESSWT Installation Instructions: [1] DirectX is needed to run the software wavetable. Ensure that DirectX 3.0, or higher, is installed in the system. For a copy of DirectX, please contact Microsoft Corp. [2] a) Upgrading The ES1868 drivers, skip to step 3. b) Istalling the sound card for the first time, install the sound card in an appropriate slot. Power up the system, and insert the ES1868 ESSWT driver disk (CD-Rom disk). When prompted for the driver, redirect the system to look for the appropriate drivers in the CD-Rom drive. Skip to step 6. [3] Upgrading the ES1868 drivers: a) Go to "System Properties", select "Device Manager" b) Go to "Sound, video and game controllers", select "ES1868 Plug and Play AudioDrive". Note: If you had chosen "ES1868 Control Interface", please exit immediately and restart the process from Step 3a. c) Go to "Properties", go to "Driver", select "Update Driver" d) Select "Yes" to allow the system to search for the driver(s) e) Select "Other locations", type in "D:\" (or your designated CD-Rom drive). Select "Ok", "Finish" f) If you are prompted for a driver disk, Key in "D:\" for all the files to be copied from the CD-Rom g) Close System Properties, reboot system. Skip to step 6 [4] a) Remove ES1868 driver image(s) from REGEDIT->HKEY_LOCAL_Machine->Emun->ISAPNP b) EXIT Windows to get to DOS mode. Remove existing ESS drivers from c:\win95\system using "del es*.*". c) Remove OEM*.inf from c:\win95\inf (if using older versions of Win95 OS), or remove ESSOEM*.inf from c:\win95\inf\other (if using newer version of Win95 OS) [5] Reboot the system. Perform a new driver installation (Step 2b). [6] Done. You can verify the presence of the software wavetable from System Properties. Note: If there is still no audio after you complete the process, skip to step 4Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
