HARDWARE INSTALLATION

Note: For operation in Windows NT, install the network adapter after
the Windows NT Operating System has been installed.

1. Power off the PC and remove its cover. Turn off the computer and
all peripherals. Follow the instructions in your PC User's Guide to
remove the cover.

2. Insert and secure the adapter. Select any available PCI slot and
remove the slot cover. Carefully install the adapter into the
expansion slot by firmly pressing the card into the slot until the
adapter is snugly seated. Fasten the retaining bracket with the
screw from the slot cover.

3. Replace the PC cover. Replace the computer's cover and reconnect
any previously disconnected cables.

4. Repeat the above procedure to fit the network adapter into any
other computers to be networked.

You are now ready to physically connect this computer to the hub
using twisted pair cable (UTP).

CONNECTING TO THE 10/100MBS HUB

1. To connect the UTP cable to the hub, align the RJ-45 connector
on one end of the twisted-pair cable with the notch on the network
adapter's RJ-45 port and insert it into the port until it clicks
into place.

2. Align the RJ-45 connector on the other end of the twisted-pair
cable with the notch on one of the hub's RJ-45 ports and insert
it until it clicks into place.

3. Repeat the procedure in steps 1 and 2 to connect the other PCs
to the hub.

NOTE: You cannot connect the nodes directly to each other
through straight twisted-pair cable.

4. Plug the hub power adapter into an AC power source and then
into the hub's power socket.

Your network components are now connected.

NOTE: There is no power switch on the hub. Once the power
adapter is connected, the hub is powered on.

Your network is now ready for software installation.
