looking at the system properties (Start/Settings/Control Panel/System/), the
Windows 95 version should be 4.00.950 B.

C:\OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WIN95\USB. These drivers are also located on the
HP OmniBook 3000 Recovery CD in the \OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WIN95\USB
directory.
Procedure
Copy Files in this directory onto a 3.5 inch floppy, then follow this
procedure:
1. Copy the 3 inf files into the c:\windows\inf directory, overwrite as
necessary. The three inf files are MACHINE.INF, USB.INF and MSHDC.INF.
2. Open up the Device Manager by clicking on the 'Device Manager' tab in
System Properties. (Start/Settings/Control Panel/System/)
3. The following items should have yellow exclamation points associated with
them and will need to be removed:
Other Devices... PCI Universal Serial Bus
PCMCIA socket... PCIC or compatible PCMCIA controller
System devices.. IRQ Holder for PCI Steering
4. After you have removed those 3 devices, execute the USB.EXE command
from an MS-DOS Prompt Window or double click on it with the Explorer.
5. After USB.EXE has been run, you will need to reboot your computer.

Click on 'Next' to have it search for updated drivers.
7. The 'Standard Universal PCI to USB Host Controller' driver should be
located, so press 'Finish'. At this point, the computer will begin to copy
files, but then a 'Copying Files...' dialog box will appear claiming that
"UHCD.SYS" could not be found. There will be a 'Browse' button, click it
and use the resulting box to point the system to the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM
directory. Click 'OK' on the two open dialog boxes and the file copy will
complete.
