INSTALLING NT SOUND SUPPORT Requirements ============ * HP OmniBook 3000 with Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 installed. * HP OmniBook 3000 drivers for sound. These driv ers are located on the HP OmniBook 3000 Recovery CD in the \OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\NT\SOUND directory. Installing Audio Drivers 1. Start up WindowsNT 4.0 on the Omnibook 3000. 2. Open My Computer, then Control Panel. 3. Double click the Multimedia icon and click on Devices. 4. Press the ADD button. Select Unlisted or Updated Drivers and press OK. 5. A dialog box will appear and request the path of the location of the driver files. Point to the Omnibook 3000 NT 4.0 sound drivers directory and click OK. 6. Another dialog box will appear with the CrystalWare Audio Driver label. Press OK to continue with the installation. Select New. 7. Accept the default settings. 7. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
