IBM TrackPoint Support for Windows 95
=====================================
     
This software is intended for use with the IBM PS/2 TrackPoint, 
version 4.0. or later. For earlier versions, no special software 
is needed. 
     
 1. If it has been installed, remove the touch pad driver. 
  Open the Mouse Icon and choose the General tab, press the
  Change button and then choose Microsoft PS/2 Port Mouse from
  the resulting dialog box.

NOTE:  You will lose your mouse at this point and will need to use the
keyboard to navigate until you've reboot your computer.
     
 2. From the Start menu, shut down, then restart the OmniBook.
     
 3. When you see the HP logo, press F2 to enter the BIOS Setup utility.
     
 4. From the System Devices menu, check Internal Pointing Devices and 
    select Pointing Stick or both.
     
 6. Press F10 to Save and Exit the BIOS Setup utility.
     
 7. Reset the OmniBook.
     
 8. To install pointing stick support, from Control Panel, open Mouse, General
    and change the mouse type--click Have Disk and point to the directory listed 
    below and select IBM PS/2 TrackPoint.
     
    For Windows 95
    c:\omnibook\drivers\trackpnt.
     
 9. Click OK, then select IBM PS/2 TrackPoint from the list.
     
10. Click OK, Close, and when prompted, restart the OmniBook.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
