                  Installing video support



System Installation Requirements

HP OmniBook 800 installed with Windows 3.1 or Windows for
  Workgroups

HP OmniBook 800 PCMCIA Drivers.  These drivers are located
  on the OmniBook hard disk in C:\OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WFW\VIDEO.
  These drivers are also located on the HP OmniBook Recovery CD
  in the \OmniBook\DRIVERS\WFW\VIDEO directory.



Procedures

1.   Copy the following files from the c:\omnibook\drivers\wfw\video\windows
     directory to c:\windows directory:
          NEOHELP.HLP
          NEOMAGIC.EXE
2.   Copy the contents from the c:\omnibook\drivers\wfw\video\windows\system
     directory to the c:\windows\system directoy. (There are a total of 29
     files.)
3.   Add the following section to the end of the SYSTEM.INI file.
     [Neomagic]
     VRefresh=60
     Resolution=800x600
     dpi=96
4.   Reboot the OmniBook.
5.   From the Main group, Windows Setup, Options, Change System Settings,
     Display (down arrow), choose the following video driver:
          NeoMagic v3.21 800x600 256 (Sm font)
6.   Choose "Current" as the installed driver.
7.   Restart Windows.
8.   This procedure will install a Video Configuration icon in the Control
     Panel for specific video settings.
9.   The NeoMagic display driver is now installed.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
