Project: LoopBack.pjt

This project demonstrates simple USB enumeration and Loop-Back code for the C541U.
This project reserves 1k of data in the kitCON SRAM to store data retrieve from the USB.
The data can then be written back to the USB.

This example has only been tested with Windows 98.
This example requires a CA or later step of the C541U.
This example requires the BulkUSB.sys driver and rwbulk.exe files from the Windows 98 DDK.

BEFORE YOU RUN THIS EXAMPLE COPY THIS DIRECTORY AND THE rwBulk DIRECTORY TO YOUR HARD DRIVE!

To run this example:
1. Open the project LoopBack.pjt using the Tasking EDE.
2. Build the project by selecting "\Project\Rebuild" from the pulldown menus
or press the "Execute 'Rebuild' command" button on the toolbar.

You have 2 options for running this example on the kitCON-541 evaluation board:
A. Program the kitCON flash with the file LoopBack.hex (see kitCON hardware manual for
instructions on programming the kitCON flash). To create the LoopBack.hex, select
the "Intel Hex records for EPROM programmers (.HEX)" option from the /EDE/Linker Options
pulldown menu, then rebuild the project.
B. Use CrossView: For this option, the appropriate Tasking ROM monitor program must be programmed
into the kitCON flash. See the "Getting Started" Manual for the location of this
	file.
Press the "Debug application" button on the EDE toolbar to start the CrossView Debugger.
Open the Source window if it is not already open (/View/Source/High Level)
Press the "GO" button on the Source window toolbar

3. Connect the kitCON board to the USB
4. When the PC asks for the appropriate driver, point it to the "Bulkusb.inf" file (located
in the rwBulk directory). You must also point the PC to the file Bulkusb.sys (
located in the Windows 98 DDK). The device should now be ready to use.
5. Open a DOS window and execute the following command in the rwBulk directory:
	rwbulk -u
This should display the device information
6. To write and read data to and from the device over the USB, execute the following command:
	rwbulk -r 64 -w 64 -c 1 -v
This command causes 64 bytes to be written to the C541U and 64 bytes (the same 64 bytes
that were written) to be read from the C541U. It is best if the number of bytes read
is equal to the number of byte written. The max number of bytes allowed is 1024.

The PC will only ask for the driver the first time you run this example (after the first time,
the driver will be loaded automatically).
