2. Driver Installation for Windows 95 OSR2
------------------------------------------------

    The Windows installation floppy or CD is needed to complete this
    installation.

    Adapter Installation Procedure
    --------------------------------------------
    a. Make sure your computer is power-off.
    
    b. Plug the adapter into one PCI 33MHz slot of your computer.
    
    c. Turn on the power. 

    Install and/or Update driver from diskette
    ------------------------------------------
    The following steps can help you install or update the driver to
    the one in the Adapter Drivers Diskette/CD-ROM.
     
    a. A dialog box "New Hardware Found" prompts to indicate that 
       "PCI Ethernet Controller" is found.
    
    b. Another dialog box "Update Device Driver Wizard" prompts immedately 
       to help to install the driver.

    c. Insert the ENCORE 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet PCI Adapter Driver Diskette 
       in your floppy drive.

    d. Click the "Next >" button in "Update Device Driver Wizard"
       dialog box.

    e. Select "Other Location" and then "Browse" to the driver files, like, 
       A:\Win95B.

    f. Click the "Finish" button in the "Update Device Driver Wizard"
       dialog box.

    g. When the wizard can not find the required driver files, it pops
       a windows asking for its path. Browse to the path of the driver.

    h. "Windows 95 OSR2 CD-ROM" is needed during the installation. Insert the CD  
       when Windows asks for it, and click OK.

    i. Otherwise, specify the pathname where "Windows 95 OSR2 CD-ROM" installation
       files are stored in the "Copying Files..."  dialog, then click OK.

    j. Windows 95 OSR2 will copy the driver files and install them.

    k. Remove the ENCORE 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet PCI Adapter Driver Diskette 
       from your floppy drive.

    l. Restart your computer to initialize the network function.

3. Parameter Description

   - Open 'Device Manager' in "My Computer" -> "Control Pannel" ->
     "System"  Select "Hardware" and click "Device Manager".
     Double click "ENCORE 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet PCI Adapter", Select 
     "Advanced" item.

	
	Connection Type  Specify the connection type for the adapter.
                         Default: Auto-Sense

	Network Address  Set the Ethernet address for your adapter. 
                         It is not recommended to use this. 
                         Default: read address from adapter ROM.

	No Cable         Set the indication function of "No Cable".
	Indication	 Default : Disabled

	Receive Buffers	 Set the number of Receive Buffers Descriptors
                         Default : 96

	Transmit Buffers Set the number of Transmit Buffers Descriptors
                         Default : 96

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
