U.are.U Sensor Driver Version 2.2.2.1004.

How to Use This Document
-------------------------

To view the Readme file on-screen in Windows Notepad, maximize the 
Notepad window. On the Edit menu, click Word Wrap. To print the 
Readme file, open it in Notepad or another word processor, and
then use the Print command on the File menu.

1. INSTALLATION
----------------

You must have administrator's right to install this software on 
Windows NT, 2000, XP and 2003

- Click on the download link on the web page.
- You can select to run the setup program or save the setup program
  on your local disk.
- If you select run, the program will be downloaded and self extracted
  into your Windows temporary folder. The installation will start
  automatically.
- Follow the instructions on the installation.
- At the end of the installation you will need to reboot your computer.

Note: If you are installing on NT 4.0 machine over an older version of 
the driver, the installation will require two reboots of your computer.
The sensor will not function during the Windows logon after the first 
reboot only. Therefore, you will not be able to use your fingerprint
for this Windows logon. Immediately after the first logon, the 
installation will automatically complete and enable the sensor for all
logons thereafter.

The U.are.U Sensor Driver Version 2.2.2.1004 is compatible
with the following DigitalPersona products:

Supports the following U.are.U Software Products (version 2.0 or later) 
- U.are.U Pro Workstation for Active Directory 
- U.are.U Pro Workstation for NT Domains 
- U.are.U Personal 
- U.are.U Online Client 
- U.are.U Pro AD-SA Workstation (version 1.0 or later) 
- Supports all versions of U.are.U Fingerprint Sensors and Keyboards

3. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum system requirements:
- Pentium-class processor
- 12 MB disk space
- USB port
Supporting OS:
Windows 2003, Windows XP (Professional and Home), Windows 2000, 
  NT 4.0 (SP 4.0 or later), Windows 98, Windows Me.

4. RELEASE NOTES
-----------------

4.1 Improved U.are.U 4000 Sensor Support
This release offers improved support of the U.are.U 4000 Fingerprint
Sensors. This version of the driver is WHQL certified for Windows Me, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.

5. KNOWN ISSUES
----------------

5.1 Installation on a NT4 Machine
On a Windows NT4.0 machine, When installing over the above 
mentioned compatible products, the installation will ask you 
to reboot your computer to update the sensor driver. 
The sensor will not be functional during the
first Windows logon after the reboot. The installation will
continue automatically after you log on.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
