A)Install NDIS5.0 Miniport driver to Microsoft Windows XP
=========================================================
Importance:
  Because our NDIS5.0 driver had build-in the Windows XP CD. So, here have 2
  way to install the NDIS 5 driver;

  First way: 
     You just plug the PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter into the PCI slot of                   
     your machine. Then power on the machine, the system will auto install 
     its driver.

  The other way:
     If you want to use the driver in diskette. First, you must deleted the 
     NETAN983.INF and NETAN983.PNF file at safe mode(Don't plug the NIC into 
     machine). Then shutdown the system and trace the following to install 
     driver.
  1. Plug the PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter into one of the Master PCI                    
     slots of your PCI platform.

  2. Turn on the power of PC then boot into Windows XP.

  3. Windows XP will prompt "PCI Ethernet Controller" in "New Hardware 
     Found" dialog box.

  4. Select "Search for suitable driver for your device(Recommand)" from 
     "Found New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, then click "Next" button.

  5. Select "Specify a location" from "Found New Hardware Wizard" dialog box
     , then click "Next" button.

  6. Insert the PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter Driver Diskette in your                    
     floppy drive.

  7. Enter the driver pathname, i.e. A:\winXP (or B:\), then click "OK" 
     button from "Found New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.

  8. "Found New Hardware Wizard" dialog box will find inf file.
     i.e. A:\WINXP\FASTNIC.INF, then click "Next" button.  

  9. Windows XP will prompt; "PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter" in "Found                   
     New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, then click "Finsh" button.

 10. Windows XP will prompt "New Connection" Wizard diag box, then click 
     "Next" button.

 11. You can Modify or Add your LAN protocol or LAN Service... form "LAN
     Wizard", and click "Next" button to continue.

 12. Type a name you want for this connection form "LAN Wizard" diag box,
     and click "Finsh" button.

 13. Remove the PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter Driver Diskette from your                    
     floppy drive.

 

B) Configuring NDIS5.0 Miniport driver to Microsoft Windows XP
==============================================================
  1. Click the "My Computer" icon in the Main Program Group.

  2. Click the "Control Panel" icon from My Computer window.

  3. Click the "Network and Dial-up Connections" icon from the Control 
     Panel window.

  4. Select "PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter" item from "Network" dialog                    
     box, then click "Properties" button.

  5. Press "Configure" key.

  6. Click "Advanced" button from "PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter Properties"                    
     dialog box.

  7. Select the Media Type value (AutoDetect, 10BaseT, 10BaseT Full_Duplex,
     100BaseTX, 100BaseTX Full_Duplex) from "Value" item, then click OK 
     button from "PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter Properties" dialog box.                   

  8. Click OK button from "Network" dialog box.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
