1) ISC 2.3 shows wrong indication in reference to which processor is disabled. 
In case processors gets disabled at POST, ISC (PI) shows indication 
(health and pop-up)that shows which one has been disabled. 
However, the indication shows wrong (or insufficient) information.

2) ISC2.3 and DMI explorer show incorrect DIMM memory size and memory 
type on SKA4 board. Memory DIMM sizes do not correspond to values reported
by ISC for each individual DIMM stick. 

To correct both problems follow the directions provided below

Replacing file on an ISC 2.3 Build 32 installed server

Windows NT 4 / Windows 2000 Advance Server
* Launch Service Applet
* Stop Intel Baseboard Service
* From the System applet, determine the value of the environment 
  variable ISCPATH (e.g. C:\program files\servercontrol)
* Copy the attached sensor.dll onto %ISCPATH%\bin
* Reboot the server


 
NetWare 4.2 / 5.1
* From the NetWare server console, run ISC_OFF.NCF to stop ISC services
* Map a network drive from a client onto the NetWare server's SYS:\SYSTEM
* Copy the attached SENSOR.NLM and onto SYS:\SYSTEM of the NetWare server
* Restart ISC by running ISC_ON.NCF from the NetWare console or restart
  the server.



UnixWare 7.1
* Stop isc by running /etc/rc.d/init.d/isc stop
* For SKA4 RCC system, copy the attached libsensor.so onto 
  /intel/isc/k84/libsensor.so on the UnixWare server
* Reboot the Linux server by "init 6"

Replacing file on ISC 2.3 Build 32 CD image

* WinNT4/Win2k: copy the attached sensor.dll onto cd\win32\pi\common
* NetWare 4.2/5.1: copy the attached sensor.nlm onto cd\nw\pi\common
* UnixWare 7.1: copy the attached libsensor.so onto cd\uw\pi\common
* RH Linux 6.1: Below is the attached rpm package for Linux that includes
  the fixes. 
* Alternatively, install the ISC 2.3 isc-2.3-1.i386.rpm package file first, 
  followed  by replacing  the libsensor.so file as described in the above 
  section for Linux.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
