LSI MegaRAID Firmware Image Release OEM Name: LSI Controllers Supported: 475/493/471/494 Release date: 10/01/01 New Release Version: F160 BIOS Version: 3.12 Ctrl+M Version: 5.23 WebBIOS Version: 1.36 Boot Block Version: 1.3.7 (AMI specific) Qlogic 12160 F/w version: 11.12.130 (April 2, 2001) Previous Official Release: A159/3.11/5.20/1.38/1.2.7/11.12.13 (05/14/01) Controllers Supported: ====================== Series 471 = MegaRAID Enterprise 1600 Series 475 = MegaRAID Express 500 Series 493 = MegaRAID Elite 1600 Series 494 = MegaRAID Elite 1650 Firmware Changes: ================= 1. Fixed problems with RAID 0 array using Direct IO setting. 2. Multiple drive failures could occur if medium errors are detected back to back on each drive. 3. When multiple Hot Spares are enabled and the first one is NOT READY, the firmware doesn’t look at the remaining drives for possible use. 4. Fixed problem with RAID 5 array when using Write Back mode. 5. Fixed problem with medium error handling on a RAID 1 array. 6. Ctrl-M reports Logical drive(s) are in Background Init state and does not allow us to initialize those drives, even though the logical drives are not really in Background Init state. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enhancements: ============= 1. Load balancing was added for immediate IOs to increase performance. 2. Added the ability to select between multiple drive coercion algorithms. A new algorithm was added that will round drive capacity down to the nearest 1GB capacity, where 1G=1000000000 bytes (i.e. as measured by drive manufacturers). 3. Don’t coerce drive size when examining a drive’s suitability for a Hot Spare. 4. Check put in for SAF-TE presence when looking for predictive failures. 5. Added support for 511. 6. Flush Tuning algorithm has been updated for better resolution. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- CTRL-M CHANGES: =============== 1. Caption of Coercion option in adapter menu changed to Coercion Algorithm = xxxx where xxxx may be one of None, 128MB-way and 1GB-way according to current coercion algorithm setting. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- BIOS CHANGES: ============= BIOS ver 3.12: -------------- 1. DRAM Size shown properly for more than 256MB DRAM. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Limitations: ============ 1. On some older AMI motherboards when using W2K, a 493 controller can not be added to the system that already had W2K installed. 2. On some older AMI motherboards, when a 493 and 471 were in the system at the same time, the Unixware driver could not be loaded. It worked fine with only one controller. 3. Different issues have been seen with the termination set to Automatic. Our recommendation is to make sure it is set to Hardware Termination enabled using the jumper. 4. On some systems, auto-rebuild (with or without a hot spare) doesn't always kick in automatically. 5. WebBIOS HTML code does not properly update BIOS data when deleting logical drives. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Features: ========= Span Support: 8 SMART Support: Yes Type of SAF_TE: UNIVERSAL >4GB support: Yes Memory Support: SDRAM Auto-Rebuild support: Yes Cluster Support: Yes Max Logical Drives: 40 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- File Listing: ============= Size Date Time File 84,120 03-06-01 10:34a mflash.exe 1,048,576 08-14-01 6:48a 471GEN.rom 3,954 10-01-01 4:48p F160.txtDownload Driver Pack
