Installation Instructions for Windows XP Home & Professional Editions

1. Run the setup file cds1000pc.exe. Close to the end of the setup, you will get a file error message telling you that it can't find
    the file setupx.dll. Click on the "close" button. It will then pop up a error window that says "Can't run 16-bit Windows Program."
   Click "OK"  It will then tell you that the installation is successfully completed. Click "Finish" and it will prompt you to restart the
   computer. Restart the computer.

2. After the computer has booted up, plug the camera in. WindowsXP will detect the camera and pop up the device installation
    wizard. Select "Install this device automatically," and hit "Next." It then start copying files to the system folder. In this process,
    it will tell you that the file cds1000.sys is needed and it will prompt you for the location. Click "Browse" and point it to folder
    you unzipped the file. WindowsXP will then copy the file to the system folder and will then tell you that your camera is set up
    successfully.

3. Launch your photo editing software and select "Acquire images from camera (twain) driver. The camera's twain driver will pop
    up.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
