                                RELEASE NOTES

Summary:
- Miniport drivers have been updated to v3.48 which corrected the following . . .
	a. Driver issue of not logging Link Speed during Windows XP WHQL test:  WHQLCheckConfig
	b. LED display initialization in driver after wake from Standby or Hibernate.
- Netware ODI Driver updated to fix a register corruption problem in the timer function.
- DOS Diagnostics updated, please see the diagrel.txt and udiagrel.txt in the \DosDiag for detail changes.
- BACS, BMAPI, and CabW32 updated to our latest "best tested" software versions.
- The Driver Installer updated to package v3.48 drivers.

BROADCOM Advanced Control Suite (BACS) 
This is an integrated GUI application that allows you to view information of 
all NICs on the desktop.  The NICs diagnostic, Cable Analysis, and NICs statistic  
are supported in this release.  Refer to the RELEASE.TXT file on the 
engineering CD in the \WinDiag subdirectory for latest changes.  This 
application should be installed by running setup from the \WinDiag 
subdirectory on the engineering CD. 

BROADCOM Management Application Programming Interface (BMAPI)
This DLL (bundled with the MgmtApps Installer) provides a common interface to BROADCOM Advanced Server Program, SNMP agents,DMI and Broadcom Advanced Control Suite.  Refer to the RELEASE.TXT file on the engineering CD in the \WinDiag subdirectory for latest changes.

CABW32 - Cable Management Dynamic Linked Library (DLL) Module.  Refer to the RELEASE.TXT file on the engineering CD in the \WinDiag subdirectory for latest changes.

440x Driver Installer - Installs Windows drivers on Windows 2000 and Windows XP platforms only.  The new hardware wizard may appear if the system has not detected the NIC. If this wizard appears, click cancel, and the installer will continue to install the driver.

Broadcom Management Programs Setup Application- located in the \MgmtApps subdirectory on the CD.  This setup application will allow you to install BACS onto your system.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
