This document contains installation notes, which is not included in the
DFE-650 Fast Ethernet PC Card USER'S GUIDE or onscreen instructions,
for Windows ME users regarding DFE-650 Fast Ethernet PC Card installation.

Follow these steps to install the DFE-650 Fast Ethernet PC Card's driver:

       Power off your computer and remove all of PC Cards.

       Turn on your computer and insert the DFE-650 PC Card into a free PC Card Slot.
        Windows will detect this device automatically.

       Insert the device driver disk into the floppy disk drive.

       Choose "Specify the location of the Driver (Advanced)" and click Next.

       Choose "Specify the location" and type A:.  Click Next.

       Expect a minor delay and the appropriate driver for this device should be found.
        Click Next.

       Click Finish. Then the software installation for this device will be completed successfully.

       If prompted to restart Windows Millennium, click Yes.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
