INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE 11354 (11355 for UK version) TRUST SCSI CONNECT 19200 ES II ON WINDOWS XP:


NOTE:
Please check the correct article/item number of your scanner. It is mentioned on the product and/or the package. If you cannot find this, look if you can find a barcode that starts with 87134... For example 8713439118803. Take the last 6 digits (118803) and delete the last one. Then you have the item no. (with this example 11880). 

NOTE: 
These instructions must be used in combination with the Windows 2000 driver of the 11354 Trust SCSCI Connect 19200 which can be downloaded from the Trust internet site.

NOTE:
Before you continue with the instructions below, please make sure all previous installed drivers and software of the scanner are removed and the scanner and SCSI card are removed from your computer.


A. DOWNLOADING THE WINDOWS 2000 DRIVER FROM THE TRUST INTERNET SITE

1. Go to "http://www.trust.com/customercare/11354" and click the link "Drivers & Manuals"
NOTE: If you are a first time visitor you must fill in your email address first to enter this site
2. Download the Windows 2000 driver file version 3.0 "11354-01.EXE" (date 26/02/2001)
3. Doubleclick the downloaded file "11354-01.EXE" and click "OK" to extract the Windows 2000 driver files
4. Type in a driver location (example: C:\Download\Driver11354) and click the button "Unzip"
5. After extracting click the button "Close" to close the self extractor


B. INSTALLING THE DRIVER

6. In Windows XP go to "Start" and select the option "Run..."
7. Type in "regedit" and click "OK" to start the Registry Editor
8. In the Registry Editor go to the following location:
   "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion"
9. In the directory "CurrentVersion" right-click the key "ProductName" and select the option "Modify".
10. Modify the Value data from "Microsoft Windows XP" in "Microsoft Windows 2000"
11. Close the Registry Editor.
12. Go to the directory with the extracted 11354 driver files and doubleclick "WEB.EXE"
13. Select the prefered language and click "OK"
14. After installation click "OK" to restart your computer.
15. After restart follow the steps 6 to 11 to undo the changes in the registry
    (Change "Microsoft Windows 2000" back to "Microsoft Windows XP")


C. INSTALLING THE HARDWARE

16. Shutdown your computer and remove the power plug from the wall outlet
17. Remove the cover from your computer
18. Select a free PCI slot and remove the protective plate if necessary. Save the fastening screw for later use
19. Insert the SCSI card into the PCI slot and push it firmly but gently into the slot
20. Secure the SCSI card using the fastening screw
21. Place the cover back on your computer and reconnect the power plug to the wall outlet
22. Connect the included interface cable to the "Computer" input on the rear side of the scanner
23. Connect the other end of the interface cable to the SCSI card
24. Connect the included power supply adapter to the "Power" input on the rear side of the scanner
25. Plug the power supply adapter into the wall outlet

NOTE:
The scanner will now begin calibrating. This will take less than 30 seconds.
The scanner is switched on and off automatically, so it does not have an on/off switch

26. Start Windows XP
27. Windows XP detects the "DMX3191 PCI SCSI Controller"
28. Select the option "Install the software automatically (Recommended)" and click "Next"
29. A message appears mentioning that the driver has not passed the Windows Logo Testing. Click the button "Continue Anyway"
30. After installation click "Finish"
31. Windows XP detects the "Trust SCSI Connect 19200"
28. Select the option "Install the software automatically (Recommended)" and click "Next"
29. A message appears mentioning that the driver has not passed the Windows Logo Testing. Click the button "Continue Anyway"
30. After installation click "Finish"


The Trust SCSI Connect 19200 ES II is now installed and ready to use with Image Editing software like Photo Express.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
