================================================================== Real 3D StarFighter(R) Video Bios Flash - 8/6/98 readmeVB0146.txt ================================================================== The Real 3D Video Bios Flash Utility updates the contents of the Video Bios image on a StarFighter Intel740 AGP or PCI graphics display adapter card. -------- WARNING: Install any StarFighter Driver updates *before* flashing -------- the new Video Bios image. ---------------------- Bootable Floppy Flash: ( WINDOWS NT or WINDOWS 95/98 ) ---------------------- 1) The R3Dxxxx.exe file is required for bootable bios flash, where xxxx denotes the Video Bios Version to be flashed. This file is available for download at the Real 3D web site at www.real3d.com 2) Double click on R3Dxxxx.exe You will be asked to insert a formatted disk into floppy drive A: 3) This program will make the floppy bootable, copy a flash utility to the floppy, and you will then be prompted to reboot to floppy. 4) After the reboot, the screen will blank and you will be prompted to press any key to continue. 5) You will hear 4 beeps during the flash process. After the flash has completed, you will be prompted to remove the floppy and press any key to continue. 6) The system will be rebooted automatically. The Real 3D boot screen should reflect the new xxxx Video Bios Version number. WARNING: This procedure will not work if boot order of the the system has been changed from the normal default setup where it attempts to boot from the Floppy A: drive first. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
