The following instructions will set up your drive in windows 2000:

1. Insert your drive into the PC card slot on your computer.

2. Windows 2000/XP will recognize the drive and install its generic ATAPI drivers for the drive. (These don't work.)

3. Go to Start/Settings/Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager/IDE ATA ATAPI controllers/PCMCIA IDE ATAPI Controller. Double-click on PCMCIA IDE ATAPI Controller.

4. Go to the driver tab and click on 'update driver' then click 'next'.

5. Choose 'display a list.....', then 'have disk...'. (For XP choose 'No, not this time' click next and choose 'Install from a list...' click next and choose 'Don't Search, I will choose the driver to install' then choose 'Have Disk')

6. Browse to the directory where you have the Addonics drivers and select 'ADDID2k.inf'.

7. Choose the 'Addonics PCMCIA IDE Controller Win2000' and hit next.

8. The new drivers will install and your drive will work beautifully in Windows 2000/XP (you may need to restart your system). On most laptops, the drive will get the drive letter E.
