Installing the ViVa RAS/56K Dual-Port PCI Modem Parts 6000953, 6001444 in Windows 2000 Notes: ·The driver is not digitally signed by Microsoft. The default setting (shown below) will allow the install of the driver. The Block setting will produce an error and prevent the driver from being installed. If problems occur installing the driver, ensure that the Driver Signing Options are set as below. The screen can be reached by right-clicking My Computer selecting Properties Hardware and Driver Signing. Installation: 1. Windows 2000 will automatically detect a device PCI Serial Port. Note: if the device wizard has been canceled, the PCI Serial Port should show with an exclamation point in Device Manager. Double-click the PCI Serial Port select Driver and Update Driver then continue with step 2. 2. Select the option to search for the driver and specify the location on the hard drive or diskette where the driver files reside. 3. Proceed with the installation of the driver. 4. A screen will appear indicating that the Moreton Bay Ventures RAStel 2 PCI driver has not been digitally signed by Microsoft: 5. Click Yes to continue the installation of the modem. 6. The installation of the device will continue. Windows will install several devices; redirect to the four driver files as requested by the setup program. 7. A screen will appear indicating that the RAStel 56k driver has not been digitally signed by Microsoft: 8. Click Yes to continue the installation of the modem. 9. The screen indicating that the RAStel 56k driver has not been digitally signed by Microsoft will appear a second time. 10. Click Yes to continue the installation of the modem. 11. The installation of the ViVa RAS/56K Dual-Port PCI Modem will complete. 12. Examine the Windows 2000 Device Manager to ensure that the modem has installed properly: ·Note that the process installs five devices: Under the Modems Category -- 1. RAStel 56k 2. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
