Win 9x Driver installation for Modem part #6000768
(Windows NT instructions are below.)
1.Power the system down. Place the jumpers on
the modem for either PNP mode or legacy mode.
Take the cover off and place the modem in an
open ISA slot. Secure it with a screw. Place
the lid back on and power the system up. Enter
the CMOS setup and disable the corresponding
serial port. Save the changes and exit.
2.After booting into Windows, click on
Start, Settings, and Control Panel.
3.Double-click on the icon for Modems in the
Control Panel.
4.The Install New Modem wizard starts. Place
a check mark in the box beside Don't detect
my modem;I will select from a list. Click on
Next.
5.Click on Have Disk.
6.Verify the command line is pointing to the
directory you extracted the file to and click on OK.
7.Select Telepath 56K Voice Faxmodem from
the list of modems. Click on Next.
8.Select the com port the modem is configured
for and click on Next.
9.The Install New Modem Wizard is complete.
Click on Finish.
10.Windows finds new hardware for a Wave
Device for Voice Modem. The Update Device
Driver Wizard starts again. Click Next.
11.The wizard requests how the client wants to
install the drivers. Leave the selection at the
default and click Next.
12.Put a check mark in the box for Specify a
location: and make sure it points to the directory
where the file was downloaded. Click Next.
13.Windows finds the driver for the Telepath
Serial Wave Device. Click Next.
14.The driver is installed. Click Finish.
15.After the modem is installed, the properties for
the modem are displayed for review.
Note: These are the same windows that
appear if the Modems icon in the Control
Panel is doubled clicked after the modem
is installed.
NT Driver installation for Modem part #6000768
Note: If you have installed NT Service Pack 3,
the modem may be automatically detected when the system starts. It is
not necessary to install the PNPISA from the Service
Pack to properly load the modem.
1.Power the system down. Jumper the modem
for Legacy mode (Window NT 4.0 is not Plug
and Play). Take the cover off and place the
modem in an open ISA slot. Secure it with a
screw. Place the lid back on and power the
system up. Enter the CMOS setup and
disable the corresponding serial port. Save the

2.After booting into Windows NT 4.0, click on
Start, Settings, and Control Panel.
3.Double-click on the icon for Modems in the
Control Panel.
4.The Install New Modem wizard starts. Place
a check mark in the box beside Don't detect
my modem;I will select from a list. Click on
Next.
5.Click on Have Disk.
6.Place the driver diskette in the floppy drive.
Verify the command line is pointing to the
directory you extracted the file to and click on OK.
7.Select Telepath 56K Voice Faxmodem from
the list of modems. Click on Next.
8.Select the com port the modem is configured
for and place a dot in Selected ports. Click
on Next.
9.The Install New Modem Wizard requests
dialing information. Fill in the appropriate
information and the click Next.
10.The Install New Modem Wizard is complete.
Click on Finish.
11.After the modem is installed, the properties for
the modem are displayed for review.
Note: These are the same windows that
appear if the Modems icon in the Control
Panel is doubled clicked on after the modem
is installed.

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
