I. Overview
The following document provides details of QLogic's Fibre Channel EFI driver
changes between version 1.37 and 1.40 .
II. Enhancements
Driver:
* Added support for the 0xA4 and 0xEC SCSI commands. Changed the
definition of the 0xEB command.
* BlockIo devices are now created for controller LUNs and SES devices.
The FC Object Attributes Protocol is attached to these devices.
* Added SpeedyBoot support
* SPT GetNextDevice now uses ReportLuns when finding devices.
MaxLunsPerTarget NV field is only used when ReportLuns is not supported.
* Driver Configuration now uses menu driven user interface.
* Driver Diagnostics now uses menu driven user interface.
* EFIFCScanLevel changes
-Variable is now stored in a different GUID namespace.
-Data stored in the variable is no longer swapped.
-Verified that the size of the variable is UINTN.
Efiutil:
* Efiutil now uses short commands when no HP cards are found in the system.
* Efiutil now supports the "expert" command. This command enables the
short command forms regardless of board SSVID.
RISC Firmware:
* New version: 3.03.001

III. Bug Fixes
Driver:
* SPT BuildDevicePath will never return WWNN in the device path.
* Execution Throttle parameter does not allow a zero setting
(Driver Configuration)
* Removed confusing warning statements when the ROM is completely
erased or partially erased.
* ER38417: Reworded "Do not redirect console" message
* ER38418: Ignore leading and trailing spaces with numeric input
* ER38476: Added Loopback Connector note to Driver Diagnostics
* ER38420: Menu interface change. When the user hits
<enter> without making a selection, the driver now prints
"Please make a selection".
Efiutil:
* Fixed a print formatting problem in the lun_names command.
IV. Known Issues
There is a problem when the EFI Driver is used in a SAN with many non-QLogic
HBAs (many = 40-50 HBAs). The EFI driver will seem to hang. The hang is actually
a very long timeout delay. The delay increases as the non-Qlogic HBA count
increases.

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
