Controllers Supported:
==============
MegaRAID SCSI 320-1 (520)
MegaRAID SCSI 320-2 (518)

Firmware Changes:
=================

1. Delays caused by read/write calls to the Firmware when zero logical drives were configured was resolved.
2. Improve media error handling when the physical drive does not support “AWRE”.
3. System hung when write policy changes due to BBU status. This has been fixed.
4. A failed drive in slot 0 starts auto-rebuild after reboot w/o re-inserting another drive. This issue has been fixed.

Firmware Enhancements:
=====================
1. Restoration Function of Multiple FAILED Drives (This feature is disabled by default.)

      	-- For RAID 0 configuration, all failed HDD will be on-line on next reboot.

	-- For RAID 5 configuration, all failed HDD of RAID 5 will be on-line on the next reboot.
	The first failed HDD that cause the logical drive to become degraded will remain off-line.

	-- If RAID 0 and RAID 5 LDs are sharing the same array, then both LDs will become optimal on the next re-boot.
	This configuration setup is not recommended when restoration function is enabled.

2. NVRAM Logging Function will log all critical errors in the NVRAM area.

3. Error-Handling on Rebuild will continue to rebuild, even if the medium error occurs in the source disk.

4. Control the check consistency rate thru a different DCMD interface and not using the Rebuild Rate.

5. Tune the cache parameters: flush count, flush interval.

6. Disable RMW using DCMD interface.

7. Do not log the same medium error during SCSI retry.

8. Change default disk spin up timing, 2 disks every 6 seconds.

9. Disable alarm control as default.

10.  Remove battery low status/notify.

BIOS Enhances/Changes:
=====================
1. Modified the code to improve the way CTRL-M is invoked.

2. During post, the "Battery missing" message will not be shown when the battery is not present.

3. The temporary Offline related message have been changed as follows:

	OLD: "There are # LDs whose state changed from offline to degraded."
	NEW: "The state of some Logical Drive(s) has changed due to restoration function for Multiple Dead Drives."

4. Enabling Bus mastering to fix system BIOS misbehavior.

5. BIOS will now display a temporary drive off-line dectection message saying the number of drives changed from OFFLINE to DEGRADED when the system reboot.

Ctrl-M Enhancements:
===================

1. Added three new options in Adapter Menu:

	-Abort Background Init
	-CC/BI Restoration = ENABLED/DISABLED
	-Temporary Offline RAID = ENABLED /DISABLED

2. Changed the Default Write Policy to be ‘WriteBack’ if the battery is present, otherwise the default write policy is WriteThru.

3 Change ‘CC/BI Restoration’ option name to ‘CC Restoration’

4. Change the ‘Abort Background Init’ option to ‘Abort BI/CC’

WebBIOS Enhancements:
====================
Two fields are added in the Adapter Properties Page
1. Restore Check Consistency (Enable or Disable)
2. Temporary RAID offline (Enable or Disable)

Known Limitations:
=================
1. These controllers have been tested in non-cluster configurations with EuroLogic U320 enclosures, JMR U320 and U160 enclosures, and Nstor U320 enclosures.

2. These controllers have been tested with U320 drives from the following manufacturers: Seagate, Maxtor, Fujitsu, Western Digital, and IBM. Various U160 drives have been tested.

3. Limited cluster testing has been completed with EuroLogic and Dell u160 enclosures (MegaRAID SCSI 320-2 only). WHQL Cluster device qualification tests have been run. WHQL Cluster server tests have not been run at the time of this release. Cluster configurations have not included any U320 enclosures since none were available at the time of this release.

4. Non-Disk SCSI devices have not been tested with this release.

5. The audible alarm for the MegaRAID SCSI 320-0 and 320-1 controllers is only available if the optional battery backup board is attached to the controller. The MegaRAID utilities show the alarm options (Enable, Disable, Silence, etc.) whether the battery backup board is present or not.
