Identification If the computer is a Profile 4, this is the correct driver. Installation 1. Download the file to the desktop. 2. On the desktop, double-click the 7512931.exe file. The needed files are expanded to C:\Cabs\7512931. Windows XP: 1. From the Start menu, click Control Panel. 2. In Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance. 3. In Performance and Maintenance, click the System icon. 4. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager. 5. In Device Manager, double-click Sound video and game controllers, and then double-click SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio. 6. In the SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio Properties dialog box, click the Drivers tab, and then click Update Driver. 7. In the Hardware Update Wizard dialog box, select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), and then click Next. 8. In the next dialog box, select Don't search I will choose the driver to install, and then click Next. 9. In the Hardware Update Wizard dialog box, click Have Disk. 10. In the Install From Disk dialog box, type C:\Cabs\7512931. Click OK. 11. In the Hardware Update Wizard dialog box, to install the driver, click Next. 12. Files copy. 13. In the Hardware Update Wizard dialog box, click Finish. Windows 2000: 1. From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 2. In Control Panel, double-click the System icon. 3. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager. 4. In Device Manager, double-click Sound video and game controllers, and then double-click SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio. 5. In the Soundmax Integrated Digital Audio Properties dialog box, click the Drivers tab, and then click Update Driver. 6. In the Hardware Update Wizard dialog box, select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), and then click Next. 7. In the next dialog box, select Don't search I will choose the driver to install, and then click Next. 8. In the Hardware Update Wizard dialog box, click Have disk. 9. In the Install From Disk dialog box, type: C:\cabs\7512931. Click OK. 10. In the Hardware Update Wizard dialog box, to install the driver, click Next. 11. Files copy. 12. In the Hardware Update Wizard dialog box, click Finish. Removal Removal of the sound driver can be accomplished in the Add/Remove Programs option in Control Panel. However, after installing the Integrated SoundMAX Digital Audio drivers and then removing the drivers, when the computer restarts, the operating system installs or attempts to install the drivers again. The most effective way to remove this version of the drivers is to update to a newer version. Troubleshooting If you have difficulty installing the new driver, download the file again, and then perform the installation steps. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
