         Build.exe Setup Utility

!Warning! Running the steps for this utility will erase the contents 
of this system.  Make sure to back up any necessary files prior to 
running this utility.


1. After double-clicking on the Scanfix.exe file a build.exe file 
will appear. Make sure this file is saved to the hard disk.
  (ex. C:\Windows\Desktop) 
2. Insert a blank formatted floppy into the A: drive.
3. Double-click on the Build.exe file.  
Note:  You can not execute the build.exe file from the floppy disk.
4. Click on the Setup button.
5. Press the Enter key. (The utility will format the diskette and
copy the necessary files, so this step may take a minute or two.)
6. Press the Space bar.
7. Close the Dos window.
8. Leave the floppy disk in the floppy drive and reboot the system.
Note:  Do NOT put the Recovery CD in at this time.  Just the 
floppy disk.
9. The system will boot to the Floppy disk and ask for the system
Recovery CD.  Insert it at this time and continue with the 
on-screen installations instructions.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
