This patch was written specifically to resolve Issue Number 2-1947814836. Do not install this patch unless directed by a technician. Identification This patch should only be installed if the following are true: 1. You have been directed to install this patch by a Gateway technician. 2. After pressing F11 to start recovery, some System Restore options are missing. Full System Restore (Destructive) and Full System Restore (with Backup) should be available. 3. You have a Gateway E-2300, E-4300, E-6300, or Profile 5.5 computer. Installation 1. Download the file to the desktop. 2. Close all open programs. 3. On the desktop, double-click the WMX_restore.exe file. The needed files extract to the C:\Cabs\WMX_restore folder. 4. From the Start menu, click Run. 5. In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\WMX_restore\WMX_restore.exe. Click OK. 6. The patch is installed. Installation is complete. Removal This patch cannot be removed. Troubleshooting If you have difficulty installing this file, download the file again, and then perform the installation steps. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
