DLLEWRK3 Native PathWORKS driver V5.0.25 ======================================== This README is for the PathWORKS native datalink driver called DLLEWRK3.EXE which is used for the EtherWORKS 3 products. DLLEWRK3 can only be used with the EtherWORKS 3 products (DE203, DE204, DE205). It cannot be used with the older EtherWORKS products (DE100, DE101, DE200, DE201, DE202, DE210, DE212, DE422). DLLEWRK3.EXE also requires PathWORKS V4.1 or later. Earlier versions of PathWORKS are not supported. NOTE: Unlike the Native Data Link Driver for earlier EtherWORKS products, DLLEWRK3 does not require command line switches. If you need to alter the adapters configuration parameters, please execute the NICSETUP utility included on this distribution disk. When the DLLEWRK3 driver is invoked it will automatically read the adapter's internal settings. NOTE: PathWORKS also supports the NDIS2 protocol. If you prefer to load an NDIS2 driver, see the README.TXT in the /NDIS2 directory. Changes for V5.0.25 =================== o Fixes problem where MULTICAST packets were not being processed USER NOTES ---------- 1.) DLLEWRK3.EXE requires PathWORKS V4.1 or greater. 2.) Running DLLEWRK3.EXE requires that the EtherWORKS 3 module be configured for 32K or 64K mode. Use NICSETUP to change the configuration of the EtherWORKS 3 module from 2K mode (default) to 32K or 64K mode. 3.) DLLEWRK3.EXE requires DNNETH.EXE to be V4.1.142 or greater(users with previous versions of DNNETH.EXE will experience hangs when connecting to network drives). 4.) If executing programs remotely on a LAD drive. LAD.EXE V4.1.8 or greater is required. 5.) Connecting to a PC that is running PERMIT requires the DECnet address of the PC running PERMIT to be defined with MS-NET on the PC that is attempting to establish a connection. Use the NCP program to define the MS-NET parameter. 6.) If using an Extended Memory Manager make sure that the EtherWORKS 3 memory range is excluded. (e.g. x=D000-D7FF). 7.) PathWORKS users can automate the native datalink driver installation by running NETSETUP. Choose "EtherWORKS Native Datalink" as the Ethernet Adapter type. After NETSETUP finishes, change the following line in STARTNET.BAT: %BOOT%\decnet\dlldepca.exe to %BOOT%\decnet\dllewrk3.exe Once this change is complete copy the DLLEWRK3.EXE driver from the \PATHWRKS directory of this diskette to the \DECNET directory on your hard drive. 8.) When running multiple protocols (LAT, LAD, etc.) with the native datalink driver, make sure DECnet (DNNETH.EXE) is always installed first.Download Driver Pack
